Dolphins Sign Former FIU Receiver

Chandler Williams

Well, he's not Randy Moss or T.O. But hey, maybe that's a good thing. The Dolphins did sign a wide receiver today--former FIU star Chandler Williams. Williams was originally a 6th round draft pick by the Vikings, but did not survive the team's final cut of the preseason.

Williams, who is also a Miami High graduate, was FIU's all time leading receiver. He set the school record for career catches (203) and ranks second with 2,519 career receiving yards and 8 touchdowns. He was also utilized as a punt and kick returner.

If Williams can stick with the Dolphins roster, he would join Bears safety Nick Turnbull and Ravens rookie linebacker Antwan Barnes as the only FIU athletes to play in the NFL.
